- ==========
-
-
- What is ObjectFile ?
- ====================
-
- ObjectFile is completely new. It is a small, fast and reliable
- engine, that is used to provide object persistence to any application
- program, that must store its objects on file.
-
- ObjectFile is unique in that it is designed specifically with
- application developers in mind. It was born after the realization that
- any available OODBMS was just too weighed down by database features,
- to be efficient in most application programs. ObjectFile was written
- during the development of a Computer Aided Design program.
-
- ObjectFile has all the essential features needed for development
- of industrial strength applications. These include BLOB's, incremental
- save, and the ability to store more data than physical memory.
-
- ObjectFile is methodologically clean. It is written in C++ for
- use
- with C++. It provides type safety and allows the maintainence of object
- invariants. It uses no pre-compiler or special operating system
- features.
-
- ObjectFile is portable. Its file format is portable across
- processors.
-
- ObjectFile is not a full featured Database Management System. It
- does not support concurrent access or client/server operation, does not
- have multiple indexes, nor will it handle gigabytes of data. It is
- designed for application developers, and not database developers. This
- allows it to speed up your development and not slow it down.
-
- ObjectFile is sold on a per developer basis. There are
- absolutely no run-time royalties.
-
